Mistletoe is an evergreen that grows on oak, pine, and other host trees, and the European species (Viscum album) has been used since the late 19th century in traditional herbalism. Ancient Celtic and Druid cultures also revered it for both practical and ceremonial reasons.
This dried, cut herb is rarely used alone; herbalists more often combine it with other botanicals in tea blends. As with any potent botanical, use only under the guidance of an experienced practitioner, and avoid during pregnancy or nursing.
